New York City a Trip to Remember
New York City is the center of amazing shopping, fabulous entertainment, and monumental buildings. My experience in the city this past weekend was one to remember!
After getting on the train at 4AM Saturday morning, the excitement rose seeing as it was my first time in the city. As I got off the train, the buildings were huge and bright. The shopping was amazing. The Macy’s shoe department was a block wide and a definite eye opener.
The most interesting and touching part of the whole trip was the new 9/11 memorials. They were huge reflecting pools that were as big as the circumference of the real Twin Towers. They were in the exact places that the towers were and every name was carved into the surrounding ledges.
That night was an amazing experience as well. We ate dinner at a tiny Italian restaurant with some of the best pizza. Then at eight, we made our way to the theater for the Broadway production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. The performance was truly spectacular with unbelievable onstage costume changes, dancing, and singing. Sophomore Mollie Green said, “It [Cinderella] was the most entertaining and well done performance I’ve been to. I loved every second!”
Overall it was an amazing experience and I can’t wait to go back soon. I enjoyed every part of it with my best friend.
