With all of this homecoming commotion going on these past few weeks, it would probably be wise to go out, relax, and see a movie. There are a lot of great options right now when picking a movie to see, but after seeing many of them, I know Captain Phillips is definitely the best choice.

Senior, Jennifer McFadden said, “Captain Phillips was extremely intense. The acting was amazing and realistic. You should definitely watch this film if you like suspense. I was literally on the edge of my seat the entire time!

Captain Phillips tells the true story of the 2009 hijacking of the U.S. container ship Maersk Alabama by a crew of Somali pirates and how the Captain, Richard Phillips, is put an extremely hellish and intense situation. The film is extremely suspenseful and it is guaranteed to have you jumping out of your seat at times.

“It was probably the most nerve -wracking movie I’ve ever seen. Tom Hanks plays his character perfectly and if you haven’t seen it you really need to,” said junior Ryan Robert.

Judging by students’ reactions and the fact that the movie was rated 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s no wonder the movie has gotten such amazing reviews and brought in a total gross of over 26 million dollars on its opening weekend.

Recent Walkersville High School graduate, Zack Willis saw the movie opening weekend and said it was “a tense emotional roller coaster.” If it isn’t obvious enough, this movie is amazing. Go see it if you have the time; it is most definitely worth it!
