HOT 99.5 Jingle Ball Concert a Spectacular Show

Jingle ballsby Amanda Davis

This past Monday, December 16th, was the annual HOT 99.5 Jingle Ball Concert at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C.

Madison Derrick and I arrived at the Verizon Center at 6:50. I looked up and stared at the big sign that said VERIZON. I was so excited!

We went up the escalator and found our seats. We had club seats. By the time we got up there the first performer was performing, Jason Derülo. Maddie and I screamed and danced. He was really good live! He performed his 2010 hit “Whatcha Say,” his 2012 hit “Other Side,” and his newest hit, “Marry Me.”

Next up was Robin Thicke. Oh my gosh. Talk about attractive! Plus, talented! He was so good! He came out his new out to one of his newest songs, “Give It 2 U.” He ended his performance with his 2013 hit single, “Blurred Lines.”

Next was Fall Out Boy. They were very good live as well! They opened with their 2007 hit, “Thnks fr th Mmrs.” They were very inspiring. They told the audience to never let anyone tell us we’re not good enough and to never give up on our dreams. They close their performance with their 2013 hit single, “My Songs Know That You Did In The Dark.

The next performer was Flo Rida. He was very entertaining! He put on a great show. He sang his 2008 hit single “Low,” his 2011 hit single, “Wild Ones,” and his 2012 hit single, “I Cry.”

Next up was Enrique Iglesias. He was my favorite performer of the night. I love him. He came out singing his 2010 hit single, “Tonight I’m Lovin’ You” which is one of my favorites by him! Next he sang 2011 hit single, “I Like How It Feels,” his 2013 hit single “Heart Attack.” Lastly, he ended his performance with his 2010 hit single, “I Like It.” He was amazing live! He constantly kept the audience involved and was moving around and dancing.

Next to perform was Paramore. The first song
they sang was their 2007 hit, “Misery Business.” The next song they sang was their 2010 hit single, “The Only Exception.” The lead singer, Hayley Williams, was very good live. She seemed like a really fun person to be around when she talked and interacted with the audience.

Last but not least, Miley Cyrus performed. Amazing. That’s all I can say. She was incredible live! She came on stage singing her 2009 hit single, “Party in the U.S.A.” I was shocked when she came out singing this song; I thought with her new image she’d ignore her old songs. But, I’m glad she’s still proud of her old work. Next she sang her 2013 hit single, “We Can’t Stop.” After that she sang a cover for Lana Del Ray’s hit single, “Summertime Sadness.” Lastly, she sang her newest single, “Wrecking Ball.” Miley might get a lot of crap for the way she acts and dresses, but there’s no question, she has talent!

Only being my second concert ever, I had a blast at the 2013 HOT 99.5 Jingle Ball!
