Santa Fun Run a Great Way to Keep In Shape Over the Holidays
by Hanna Houck
‘Tis the season; time to bake cookies, sing carols, and run a 5k!
This Saturday, the Frederick YMCA hosted its 3rd annual Santa Run at Monocacy Village Park.
People of all ages came out bright and early, 8 am to be exact, clad in Santa hats and suits, elven outfits, tutus, and jingling bells.
At 8:30 sharp the siren rang and the runners were off!
The course ran from the park, down and around Schifferstadt Boulevard, and back to the park.
After the race there was bagels, granola bars, coffee, and hot chocolate for the exhausted athletes. Christmas music was playing and moods were merry.
“It was a great race for all types of runners, a fun way to stay in shape around the holidays, as well as a nice way to bring the community together,” said Allie Taylor.
