Who Will Win the Cy Young Award In MLB? Predictions for Both Leagues Here!
by Sam Newman
The season is still young but now it is a good chance to look at the Cy Young race. We will look into the race going on in the AL and NL.
- Dallas Keuchel: 72.2 IP with a 1.98 ERA and has a 6-1 record. Keuchel has proved himself as the ace of this club. Game in and Game out he destroys opposing lineups. He has helped give the Astros one of the best records in baseball. If he continues his hot streak this Cy Young is practically his.
- Felix Hernandez: 61.2 IP with an ERA of 2.19 and has a 7-1 record. He has also pitched one CG shutout The Mariners have been struggling this season. “The King” and Nelson Cruz have been the positives. He just needs to shave his ERA down. Hernandez needs consistent run support and he will have a chance to win yet another Cy Young.
Watch out for- Sonny Gray: 66 IP with an ERA of 1.77 and has a record of 5-2.
- Michael Wacha: 57.2 with an ERA of 1.87 and has a record of 7-0. The Cardinals are atop of their division with his return. He has dominated in almost every start. He limits his bad pitches. He is not known for striking people out but makes them hit towards his defense which he trusts. If he can decimate lineups like he has been doing this Heisman is all but his.
- Zack Greinke: 61 IP with an ERA of 1.48 and has a record of 5-1. Greinke has stepped up for the Dodgers. Clayton Kershaw hasn’t been himself and he has taken the load off of his shoulders by performing well. He is another pitcher who doesn’t strikeout the opposing team. He makes them chase pitches and it has been working.
Watch out for- Max Scherzer: 64.2 IP with an ERA of 1.67 and a record of 5-3.
Shelby Miller: 60 IP with an ERA of 1.50 and a record of 5-1.
