Stanley Cup Finals Pits Chicago Blackhawks Against Tampa Bay Lightning

by Alec Parker

NHL Finals are a must watch event. It stars two powerhouse teams, the Tampa Bay Lightning, and the Chicago Blackhawks. The NHL finals start on June 4th.

The Lightning have the strongest, and biggest goalie in the league named Ben Bishop listed at 6’7” and with a record of 40-13-5. They also have one of the best snipers in the league, Steven Stamkos who had 43 goals, and 29 assists. As well they have  the best player in the playoffs right now Tyler Johnson who has 13 goals in the playoffs, which the most in the league right now.

Now for the Blackhawks. They have the all around best shooter in Patrick Kane, who had 27 goals, and 37 assists in only 61 games. they also have have one of the best centers in the game Jonathan Toews, who had 28 goals, and 38 assists this season. The Blackhawks have a great defense including two All Stars in Duncan Keith, and Brent Seabrook.

Between these two teams I will have to go with the Blackhawks in 6, because they overall have the better team. Not only do the Blackhawks have two of the top 25 players on their team, which are Patrick Kane, and known as the best defensive player in the league today Duncan Keith, but there is a slight chance that the Lightning could win, but they would have to step up the defensive intensity.
We will see at the end but for right now the series is tied 1-1. Winning the first 2-1 was the Blackhawks, and the second game went to the Lightning 4-3. Game 3 is on June 8th in Chicago.
