If you love cake pops then you need to talk to someone in the Model UN club. They are selling them at one for two dollars, five for eight dollars, and ten for fifteen dollars. They are going towards the Model UN club going on a trip, and you get a good treat out of it too.

For those of you who do not know Model UN stands for Model United Nations; there are many names for this club. Model UN is an extracurricular activity in which students typically role play delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN committees. (Best Delegate) They hold academic competitions in which students can learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations. Model UN involves and teaches researching, public speaking, debating, and writing skills, in addition to critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership abilities. (Wikipedia)

The club advisor Social studies teacher Andreanne Vallee said, “The students are raising money to go to John Hopkins Model UN. They are selling cake pops and then later in the year they will be doing an Uncle Ralph’s fundraiser.” The John Hopkins conference is February 18th- the 21st 2016.

Sophomore Debbie Afolabi said, “ I personally bought a cake pop because I have never tried one and my friends told me I had to get one, and then eventually made me buy one.” The order form is simple and if you want to order ask someone in Model UN. If you do not know someone in the club you could go talk to Vallee and she could probably help you.

A member of the club, senior Alexis Black, said, “We are making oreo cake pops to go on the trip, to be with other Model UN members. We have to write a two page essay and it is a good experience. I would really like to go, so please buy some cake pops.”

If you do not like cake pops, but still would like to help out Model UN, then wait until the Uncle Ralph’s fundraiser and buy some cookies to help out Model UN.
