Valentine’s Day Means Finding the Perfect Gift for that Special Someone
by Honora Johnston
With Valentine’s Day coming up everyone is in a rush to pick out the perfect gift for their sweetheart.
Valentine’s Day is a day for couples to slow down, and enjoy a moment with their significant other. It is very common for the couple to give each other a thoughtful gift, whether that be flowers, diamonds, or a variety of candies. What do students at Walkersville love to receive on Valentine’s Day?
“Obviously chocolate because I can’t eat flowers,” junior Parker Montour said. “I like Hershey’s chocolate,” senior Olivia Dunham said. Most people when questioned answered similarly. Chocolate is one of the best gifts to give on Valentine’s Day. It’s a common, and effective gift for people with sweet-tooth partners. If you decide to pursue this path for your significant other make sure you get plenty! “My favorite candy to receive… is my own personal box of chocolates,” junior Linsey Winpigler said.
“I like flowers… maybe white roses,” junior Elisabeth Madsen said. Flowers are a great way to show your love to your partner. If they have a favorite go ahead, and grab a bouquet to show how much they mean to you.
Junior Edgar Russell had a very different idea from most of the students. “I like money,” Russell said, “You can never go wrong with good ol’ fashioned money.” Money is a niche type of gift, and really depends on the person. If you know your significant other well and know they would like to choose their own gifts, this option could do well for you. The downside to this gift would be the lack of thoughtfulness, and your partner may not take well to receiving it. Think carefully before deciding on this type of gift.
When it comes down to it, ideal Valentine’s Day gifts vary from person to person, and knowing that special someone’s preferences help you decide what to get them.
