Miami Rapper Rick Ross Releases His Ninth Studio Album

by Jack Thebau

On Friday, March 17th, Miami rapper Rick Ross released his ninth studio album Rather You Than Me. This album serves as a follow up to his 2015 album titled Black Market. Packed full of star-studded features and glamorous production, Rather You Than Me is one of Ross’ best works to date.

The album’s two main singles “I Think She Likes Me” and “Trap Trap Trap” showcases two different sides of Ross. “I Think She Likes Me” showcases the introspective and more loving side of Ross while “Trap Trap Trap” showcases a past full of crime.

Senior Ben Dzigbordi said “I really enjoy the album. Rozay [Ross] really shows his lyricism on this album more than his previous work, and the songs bump too.”

A lot of the biggest stars in hip hop today are on the album, including Gucci Mane, Future, Nas, and Young Thug. Ross is known for always having a lot of collaborations on his albums, and this album is not an exception with only three songs not having a feature on them.

Senior Alka Matamba said “I haven’t heard the album yet, but I heard it’s really good. Rick Ross always drops dope albums. I’ll check it out soon.”

Senior Darryl Thompson said “I liked it. Rick Ross showed his smooth striking flow once again. He has been consistently putting out great projects for a decade.”

Rick Ross is one of the best hip hop artists out right now. He constantly releases high quality projects that fans and critics really enjoy. Rather You Than Me is no exception.
