The Fate of the Furious Opens Tomorrow, and Students Are Both Eager and Sad To See It

by Angella Ramos

The Fast and the Furious is one the the most popular American franchises. Each installment of the franchise has included in some way involved racing or heists, but has always been focused on fast cars. So far they have made seven films in the Fast and Furious franchise, and the eighth is actually coming out tomorrow, April 14th, 2017.

If you have seen all seven films, then you should definitely go watch the eighth! “I grew up watching these movies. I have seen the whole series all multiple times. I was in shock when I heard about the eighth because I couldn’t believe the made an eighth film after Paul Walker’s death. But I cannot wait till Friday the 14th because of course I will watch The Fate of The Furious,” said senior Jeff Gomez.

If you have seen all the films, it really makes you feel like you are part of the family, a very pivotal theme throughout every movie. This will likely make the eighth a very emotional movie for you.

“Well my favorite character was Paul Walker. I feel I will be very disappointed in the seventh film because they shouldn’t have made another sequel to it. They ended their last movie Furious 7 with a tribute to Paul Walker. Which felt like I lost a family member. But is was an an outstanding outro with a sentimental feel to it all. Every guy in the movie theater cried at the end of Furious 7,” said senior Bryan Johnson.

It is understandable that for some viewers it is going to be hard to watch the The Fate and The Furious since Paul walker is not with us anymore. “I do no think it will be the same without Paul Walker,” said junior Dominik Campbell. “I am actually very upset that he passed and will not be in it.  The series will never be the same without him. That’s why I think they should’ve ended it with the last movie. And also this next upcoming one is about how Dom betrays the whole crew. I don’t like this twist at all. It should have ended in Furious 7. But honestly I still might watch The Fate and the Furious because their movies are always intense and that’s what I love about it.”
