First Day of School Has WHS Students Excited

by Jessica Bentley

The 2017-2018 school year has crept upon us after a long relaxing summer. With the new school year comes a fresh start and some exciting times.

Walkersville High has a new senior class hoping to make it a fulfilling last year as they get ready to graduate in June. WHS also has a brand new class of freshman embarking on their high school journey.

Seniors Keren Ott and Davis Kelley are ready to start their senior years and make it a great one. “I’m really excited to start off my senior year on the right page. I have college classes to look forward to that will set me up for my future. Field hockey recruiting starts soon, which is something to look forward to. I can’t wait to make this year one to remember,” commented Ott.

Kelley added on to Ott saying, “I’m excited to start this year as a senior, and look forward to all the extracurricular activities I will partake in.”

This year brings new opportunities for the school to make it even easier for the students to learn. Each student can now get a chromebook if they like. All you have to do is pay a small fee. This makes it even easier to learn and do your schoolwork in and out of school.

“I’ve had a good first day so far, and I am really looking forward to CTC this year and aiding in the library again,” said senior Debbie Afolabi.

Whatever the 2017-2018 school year brings for you, it is sure to be a great one with many opportunities already coming your way on the first day.
