Boys Swimming Team Ready to Ride the Waves to a Record Breaking Season

With the winter season ahead, the winter sports teams are in high gear preparing for the competition that’s yet to come.

Head Coach Kevin Conley said, “We are looking forward to another positive season. Over the last few years we have shown improvement and finished season at 7-2 and third overall in the county. We had several records broken on the Boys side and this year have our biggest squad ever with 29 swimmers.”

Conley added, “We are led by our captains: Bryce Miller, Elliott Cessna, and Ben Moreno. Through the course of last season we broke three relay records with the following athletes: Michael Flegel, Bryce Miller, Kameron Conley, Ben Moreno, Noah Wilson, and Jack Chavez. Michael Flegel also was an individual record holder in the 100 back. Having all of these returning swimmers and the influx of new athletes should set-up up for success.”

“Our goal is to equal our record from last year or improve, and to take down a few more records.  We also strive for a ‘perfect meet’ each time we compete- do not miss an event, do not disqualify, earn a best time and cheer on your teammates,” said Conley.

“I feel like we are going in with a strong team this year, we have a lot of new swimmers and I’m excited to see how well we are going to do next week in our first meet,” commented junior Noah Wilson.

Hopefully the swim team manages to outperform the opposition at their upcoming tournament and come out on to support the boys!
