What To Do With Your Leftover Candy From Halloween?
by Elizabeth Chavez
Halloween ended last night. But what do you do with leftover candy? Do you throw it away or do you force yourself to eat it all in a week?
Personally, I feel that parents should not get a lot of candy if their children are not going to eat it. They just shouldn’t buy it. It’s a waste of money to throw away candy that you will never use again.
It would be better if they gave the excess candy to kids that weren’t fortunate enough to go trick-or-treating, possibly to homeless shelters or to their children’s school.
Junior Emily Jenkins said, “I just give them to my nephew or nieces that didn’t go, or I’ll just eat all [of the candy].”
Sophomore Sydney Oakley, “I’ll just eat it all.”
Sophomore Jackie Montano added, “If I had leftovers I would give it to my dog or just throw it away.”
Freshman Karly Rutherford said, “I’ll give the rest to my little sister or just throw it away.”
Junior Carly Geisbert commented, “I’ll give the left over to my friends or my sister, or I’ll just save it and eat it later.”
Sophomore Megan Sharma concluded by telling us. “If I had left over I’ll give it my my little sister or my parents. If they don’t want it, I’ll just throw it away.”
Many students either eat their leftover candy or give it away. No matter what you choose, just remember to not waste it.
