Galentine’s Day is on February 13th. Galentine’s Day was created on the TV show Parks and Recreation that aired from 2009-2015. [1] It is a day that revolves women celebrating their friendships.

The Galentine’s Day episode aired on February 11th, 2010. [1] This holiday has been around for quite some time.

Sophomore Avonleigh Broadhurst said, “I celebrate Galentine’s day because I am a strong independent women who doesn’t need a man. My girlfriends are better than any guy — shoutout to my girls in flex.”

“Valentine’s Day shouldn’t revolve around your partner because relationship sucks, love sucks! You should still be able to celebrate even if you’re not in a relationship so that is why I think having Galentine’s Day is fun,” commented junior Hayley Wiley.

“I love the idea of Galentine’s Day. I really appreciate all of my friends. They deserve to have a day like this. I enjoy getting them things and showing how much I care about them” said junior Kylie McClung.

“I have never celebrated Galentine’s Day before but I am going to this year. I think it is fun to start new traditions with your friends,” said senior Felicity Borge.
