by Jailen Reid Taylor
No school tomorrow? Say what!! Tomorrow February 7th, the weather reposts are calling for two inches of snow and freezing rain.
Freshmen Bryson Stith stated “[I’m going to] hangout with friends, [and] play outside with my friends!”
The weather on Weather.com is calling for a mix of wintry precipitation in the morning. Then periods of rain expected in the afternoon. High 41F. Winds at five to ten mph. Chance of precipitation 100%.”
Sophomore Atahji Jackson threw in “I’m going to go home and waste the day!”
Sophomore Chaz Egan commenter “I’m going tubing!!”
Drivers should prepare for slippery roads and reduced visibility that may make travel conditions difficult during the morning commute. Schools may delay or close in anticipation of the weather. Total wet snow could reach up to an inch, and there could be a trace of ice accumulations that may be less than one-tenth of an inch. The main concerns are freezing rain and ice, and the most impact could be felt between 2 a.m. to 10 a.m., Bell said. However, after the rain and some wet snow, a cold front moves in Wednesday night by around 8 p.m., but freezing temperatures Wednesday into Thursday may result in some icy spots.
Sophomore Nadya Mohammed said “I’m going to sleep and re-watch Vampire Diaries.’’
Sophomore Denay Scott happily said “I’m going to get some good food get in my bed and sleep the day away.”
Sophomore Daesha Baker said “All I’m going to do it lay in bed and talk on the phone with my boyfriend.”
The students at Walkersville High are patiently waiting for the snow to drop. They are hoping for no school and to get a day or rest to catch up on school work!
